Group 17 Sami People

Our group is proud to present the Sami people, the original nomadic inhabitants of Scandinavia and Finland, that showed up in written history around A.D. 94, and existed most likely long before that.

The Sami flag. The circle represents the sun and the moon, and the red, blue, green and yellow colors are taken from gáktis — the traditional Sámi garb.
