The Sami people are a tough group, living in some of the coldest places on earth; namely tundras, taigas and the northern coastal zones of the far northern Europe. There location runs from Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia's Kola Peninsula.
Most of these places are in the Arctic Circle; a place of long, freezing cold winters, and short, warm summers. It's noted that the summers are typically three months of continuing sunshine, making up for it with almost an endless night of winter. "Much of the Samis' land is at high altitudes,
rising to over 6,000 feet (1,800 meters) above sea level. The highest point is
Kebnekajse, at 6,960 feet (2,121 meters)."
