Kinship

The Sami located on the Kola Peninsula view Kinship in an important way. The Sami kept detailed track of family lines of decent, which shows their feeling of Kinship as important.

The Sami put great importance on the difference between the elder, and younger child. While age played an important role in Sami culture, it is even more important in the Sami family setting. Whoever is elder in a family, would receive the most respect and honor.
